The Estimator analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and/or services. Representative duties include:
- Reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements, and preparing itemized lists.
- Computing cost factors and preparing estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
- Conducting special studies to increase cost-effectiveness of projects.
- Consulting with clients, vendors, and Department Managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Cooperating with the Service and IAQ Departments on projects as assigned by the Installation Manager.
Job Qualifications:
- B.S. in Business, Statistics or Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as an Estimator for an HVACR contracting or building-related services business.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and the general public.
- Knowledge and experience in working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, and the ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentage ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Possession of all certificates, licenses and registration that may be required to perform services in the jurisdiction where work will be conducted.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, climb ladder, stoop, kneel and crawl in confined spaces, talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Current (state) driver’s license and the ability to drive all types of vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of initial employment. Incumbent must be insurable by current OverCool LLC insurance carrier.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office andCompany software used for estimating jobs.
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
