Service Technician/Laborer

The Chimney Division of TAG HVAC is expanding its team of technicians to better serve our community.  

TAG Chimney has been providing quality, professional services including inspections and sweeps of fireplaces, wood & pellet stoves, repairing & replacing liners and flashing, repairing & replacing fireboxes and chimneys and vent cleaning in Central Massachusetts.  This unique industry keeps families and their home's chimneys in the best shape.  No two are the same so it is also fun and challenging.

This is an entry level position - no experience is needed but would definitely be an asset.   You will learn everything you need to know on the job.  You must be able to work outdoors in cold and hot weather, use and climb ladders and occasionally scaffolding, work on roofs and sometimes above them with no fear of heights.  PPE is a must as is adhering to standard OSHA safety procedures.

The ideal candidate should be willing to work toward CSIA Chimney Sweep Certification/Certified Chimney Professional (CCP) Certification and be willing to develop masonry repair & construction skills.  TAG Chimney will pay for required training and certifications.

Major Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Chimney sweeping
  • Inspecting wood, pellet, gas furnace and oil burner flues
  • Installing fireplace, wood/pellet stove, boiler, furnace and water heater liners
  • Chimney Cap installation
  • Installation of pre-manufactured chimney systems
  • Brick and mortar repair of chimneys
  • Air and dryer vent cleaning
 
Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects of 80 or more pounds
  • Problem solving & troubleshooting
  • Able to communicate confidently
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record and be able to pass a background check (CORI)

CCP, CSIA and NFI Certifications and masonry experience is preferred but not a necessity
