Job Summary:
The HVAC New Install Commissioner is responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and initial operation of new HVAC systems. This includes ensuring that all installations are completed in accordance with industry standards, regulations, and manufacturer specifications. The role demands a deep understanding of HVAC systems, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction and system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation process, ensuring all components are installed correctly and efficiently. Address any technical issues that arise and make sure the installation complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as manufacturer instructions.
- System Commissioning: Perform thorough testing and commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure they operate according to specifications. This includes adjusting settings, calibrating controls, and verifying system performance.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct final inspections of installations, ensuring workmanship meets or exceeds company standards and customer expectations. Document installation details and commissioning results.
- Customer Service: Provide clear and concise explanations to customers about the operation and maintenance of their new HVAC system. Address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Training and Support: Offer guidance and technical support to installation technicians. Participate in training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies and installation techniques.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed during the installation and commissioning processes. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in HVAC technology, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or commissioning role.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, systems, and the installation process.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and HVAC standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Certification from recognized HVAC organizations (e.g., NATE, ACCA) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
- Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
Work Environment:
