Commercial HVACR Estimator
The Estimator analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and/or services.  LC Anderson, Inc. in eastern MA, recent ACCA Commercial Contractor of the Year, is looking for a proven Estimator to join our team and contribute to our sustainable growth plans. In this role, you will contribute to the Pre-Construction Effort, Estimating, Turnover to Operations and Engineering of new construction HVACR projects and directly build customer and subcontractor relationships, manage the pre-construction portion of projects with select building owners and General Contractors, reporting directly to the President of Construction.   This position earns a competitive salary, substantial profit-sharing plan and superior health, insurance, and vacation benefits, the company provides ongoing training, excellent career growth opportunities, and an inclusive and empowering culture where employees are trusted to make decisions and recognized and rewarded for reaching goals and achieving results.  
Pay Range:   $90,000-$125,000 plus generous performance-based bonus plan
 
Job Qualifications: 
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and the general public.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, and the ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentage ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, climb ladder, stoop, kneel and crawl in confined spaces, talk and hear.
  • Coordinate site visits and walk throughs for our key subcontractors and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Company software used for estimating jobs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in preconstruction, generate estimate and proposals in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to prioritize opportunities and adapt to individual project requirements.
  • Flexibility and ability to work outside of standard working hours, when required by workload or backlog.
  • Ability to get multiple quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and purchase equipment and assist in subcontracts.
  • Assist other departments when required, or when construction is slow.
Key Competencies:
  • Excellent understanding of HVAC design, systems, equipment, ductwork, piping, electrical, and controls
  • Excellent understanding of construction process and experience working with general contractors
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outgoing personality and ability to build relationships and work with others (customers, co-workers and subcontractors).
  • Above average understanding of installation and service of refrigeration, water, and steam piping system.
  • Understanding of basic cost accounting for construction projects.
  • Self starter and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute plans and specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle.

Qualifications: 
  • B.S. in Business, Statistics or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as an Estimator for an HVACR contracting or building-related services business.
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record
