Electrical Estimator Job Description
Job Brief:
We’re looking for an Electrical Estimator who is experienced in both commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will be able to take on multiple projects at once and deliver accurate estimates in a timely manner. If you are a self-starter with a positive attitude, then we want to hear from you!
Electrical Estimator Duties:
- Perform construction estimations based on drawings of electrical plans
- Provide estimates on and design for building lighting systems
- Promote a professional image by adhering to a professional code of ethics
- Organize and track project progress
- Perform general administrative functions
- Perform duties related to purchasing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities:
- Positive attitude is required
- Develop and manage electrical estimating projects, and perform preliminary and final estimating of electrical installations
- Generate and manage project budgets
- Work with project managers and job superintendents to obtain detailed project specifications
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and subcontractors
- Perform cost estimating and forecasting
- Develop and manage a cost model
- Use computer estimating software to create and compile estimates
- Prepare technical reports regarding bids and estimates
- Record and track progress
- Submit bids and estimates
- Participate in bid review meetings
- Produce detailed reports
- Prepare bid packages
- Keep up-to-date on local building codes
- Participate in bid management
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Train new employees
- Develop and maintain project budget
- Create and maintain project directives
- Must work well with others
- Maintain bid to award statistics
Requirements And Skills:
- Proven experience providing electrical estimating services for industrial, commercial, and hospital projects
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
- Exceptional communication and project management skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Knowledge of electrical code requirements
Compensation: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
