HVAC LEAD INSTALLER

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Installer with the technical expertise, attention to detail, and leadership skills to deliver high-quality residential retrofit installations and represent our family business with pride.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lead HVAC Installer is responsible for completing residential system replacements, retrofit installations, and duct system modifications with precision and efficiency. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to execute installations independently, and the professionalism to ensure every system performs at or above industry standards.
The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, safety-conscious, and takes pride in delivering clean, high-end residential HVAC installations.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
The ideal applicant must have strong, demonstrated experience with the following:
1. Residential Retrofit Installations
• Full system change-outs (gas furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers)
• Indoor and outdoor equipment replacement
• Start-up, commissioning, and performance verification
• Standard to advanced system configurations
• Load considerations, airflow performance, and equipment placement

2. Ductwork Fabrication & Modifications
• Custom fitting fabrication and transition work
• Duct redesign and static pressure improvement
• Return air upgrades and zoning retrofit modifications
• Proper sealing, insulation, and air distribution

3. High-End Residential Systems
• Variable-speed furnaces and communicating air handlers
• Inverter-driven heat pumps and communicating platforms
• Humidification, dehumidification, and IAQ accessories
• Dual-fuel applications
• Smart thermostats, communicating controls, and advanced setup

4. Installation Quality & Code Compliance
• Brazing, nitrogen purging, leak testing, and evacuation
• Electrical wiring, breaker sizing, disconnects, and grounding
• Line set replacement, rerouting, and protection
• Condensate management (pumps, drains, safety switches)
• Full adherence to manufacturer installation requirements and local codes

5. Start-Up Procedures & System Verification
• Charge verification (weigh-in, SH/SC calculations)

6. Leadership & Jobsite Organization
• Guiding helpers and junior installers
• Planning installation workflow and material needs
• Maintaining a clean, safe worksite

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete premium-quality HVAC installations and retrofits
• Perform system start-up, testing, and commissioning
• Lead installation projects independently with minimal oversight
• Ensure ductwork modifications and upgrades meet performance standards
• Provide homeowners with clear system operation instructions
• Maintain an organized, well-stocked company vehicle
• Submit accurate and thorough documentation of completed work
• Uphold Swann Mechanical’s family values, workmanship standards, and customer-first culture
• Perform system start-up, testing, and commissioning
• Lead installation projects independently with minimal oversight
• Ensure ductwork modifications and upgrades meet performance standards
• Provide homeowners with clear system operation instructions
