TRS Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is a proud local, family-owned and operated HVACR company serving Western New York. We’re growing and looking for an exceptional Service Technician to join our team.
The Service Technician reports directly to the Service Manager and is responsible for performing a wide range of HVACR installation, service, maintenance, and repair tasks for both residential and commercial customers. This role requires strong technical skills, professionalism, and the ability to deliver high-quality service that reflects our company’s long-standing values of honesty, reliability, and customer care.

Customer-focused responsibilities in this position require someone who is decisive, tactful, dependable, and able to take initiative. Strong communication skills are essential when working with a wide range of residential and commercial customers. The Service Technician must be able to accurately diagnose issues and complete work efficiently, ensuring positive outcomes for both the customer and TRS Heating & Air Conditioning.
This role interacts with customers across all demographics as well as team members throughout the company, including fellow technicians, the Service Manager, Dispatcher, and Parts Runners.
Representative Duties Include:
- Servicing and installing a wide range of HVACR equipment, including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, natural gas generators, fireplaces, tankless water heaters, and heat pumps.
- Performing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) services and installing related components and add-on systems.
- Working on rooftop units (experience preferred but not required).
- Identifying and generating lead referrals for the sales team.
- Completing other related tasks as assigned by the Service Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate.

5–10 years of HVACR experience in service and/or installation.
- Strong verbal, reading, and communication skills; able to follow manufacturer instructions and interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to work in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Physically capable of performing all duties in varying conditions, including extreme Buffalo weather.
- Commitment to ongoing learning through self-study, company training, and manufacturer workshops.
- Valid New York State driver’s license (must be able to operate company vehicles within 30 days) and insurability under TRS’s policy.
- Ability to work efficiently under time pressure, changing schedules, weather challenges, customer needs, and workload fluctuations.
Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
