Reports to: HVAC Engineering Manager Type: Full-time, hourly Location: On-site in Utah, with same-day travel to customer sites. This is not a remote position. Candidates must live in Utah or be willing to relocate.

GUNTHERS is the longest-running HVAC business in Utah County. It began in 1910 as a small sheet metal shop in Lehi, Utah, and is now in its fourth generation of family ownership.

Key responsibilities
Design and drawings
• Produce 3D HVAC and plumbing drawings, including connecting systems, sizing, and tagging.
• Perform HVAC and plumbing load calculations.
• Keep schedules, key notes, and specifications current throughout each project.
Project documentation
• Source cut sheets for all project equipment, including setup and augment sheets.
• Add HVAC loads, plumbing loads, gas loads and diagrams, DSB reports, and custom equipment cut sheets to job sheets.
• Set up, coordinate, and manage projects in BIM 360.
Coordination
• Coordinate with clients and the internal team, including on behalf of the project engineer as needed.
• Work with equipment suppliers as needed.
• Take part in team meetings, morning standups, schematic reviews, and peer reviews.
Field work
• Visit sites to confirm existing equipment, verify sizing, or check plan conformance.
• Join occasional installations of different equipment types, usually your own designs.
Culture
• Build positive relationships with customers and the team.
• Maintain a positive attitude and support GUNTHERS Core Values and Mission.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by Engineering Managers.
Qualifications
Required
• 1+ years of HVAC and/or plumbing design experience.
• Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing installation and specifications.
• Revit MEP (2020–2024), BIM 360, Navisworks.
• Self-starter who manages their own work and stays focused on productivity.
• Organized and customer-service oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong, professional verbal and written communication.
• Stays calm and productive under deadlines.
• Able to travel same-day to customer sites.
• Lives in Utah or is willing to relocate.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is a bonus.

• Hours range from a standard schedule to flexible hours.
• Must follow GUNTHERS dress and appearance standards.

Pay
Full-time, hourly, at competitive market rates. Actual pay depends on experience, certifications, and skill level.
