Sr. Accountant
 
Job Description: 
Becomes “go to” employee for monthly close and reporting process, with help from Controller. Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing.  Accounting Department Projects as needed.
 
 
Key Job Requirements:
 
1)      Monitor and reconcile all balance sheets account quarterly and key accounts (Cash, AR Over/Underbilling etc.) monthly.
 
2)      Responsible for AP related processes- receipt and matching of invoices or completion of work, vendor account set-up in Job Cost ERP, enter invoices not associated with job costing into Sage (as required), prioritization of invoices due and to be paid.
 
3)      Responsible for Payroll related functions: work with Service and Construction Departments to verify employee time is entered accurately for the week, download Payroll data from Job Cost ERP, prepare worksheet showing each employee’s time and its allocation and provide results to Admin/HR Manager for Payroll processing.
 
4)      Assist all AR activities when needed including: 1) reach out to customers for Not To Exceed PO’s when close to limit, 2) update customer requalification and maintain customer portals (when required)       and 3) maintain spreadsheet of new accounts, set-up in Job Cost ERP and generate and distribute New Customer letter.
 
5)      Work with controller on financial support reporting for company management team, external compliance with Third Party CPA Firm (as required).
 
6)      Work with controller in establishing procedure and processes to support Job Cost ERP and Sage information systems.

 7)      Drive, assess and establish internal controls, needed SOP’s and cross-functional discussions with other members of the team as recognized
 
8)      Participate and support controller on several other initiatives including quarterly billing for commissions, update Cost, No Billing report (currently done by Service), update KPI and Unapplied Hours spreadsheets, implement and maintain warranty procedure for construction and modernization revenues when jobs are closed, aid in quarterly newsletter content and issues and third-party Marketing contact.
 
Job Qualifications: 
  • B.S. in accounting.
  • Proven record of success as an accountant with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an accountant for a small to medium-sized business, preferably an HVACR contractor or building-related services industry.
  • In-depth understanding and working experience with computerized accounting.
  •  Highly motivated team player who has a willingness and thirst for helping controller managing changes in systems, processes and reporting in a successful company and has the desire to work cross-functionally to create “win-win situations.
  • Deadline driven, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proactive and self-motivated; excellent organizational skills, and detail-orientation are all essential.
  •  Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible in their approach and with everyone they work with.
  • Looking for an individual who wants to grow with the company and go the extra mile when the company needs it.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
